New-Build Masonry & Stonework
Natural stone walling, arches and dressings for new homes and extensions.

New stone should sit comfortably beside old. We build in traditional coursed and random rubble, and in dressed ashlar where the design calls for it, choosing stone and coursing to match the local vernacular rather than a catalogue.
We cut our own heads, cills, quoins and copings, so window and door surrounds are proportioned properly rather than bought in a standard size. Arches, mullioned windows and stone porches are all part of the day-to-day work.
We work from architects’ drawings and are used to coordinating with main contractors on extensions, garden rooms and new houses across the Cotswolds.

Questions
Can new stonework match the local style?
That is the whole point of building in natural stone. We choose the quarry, coursing and mortar to match the vernacular of your village so the new work does not stand out.
Do you work from an architect’s drawings?
Yes, routinely, and we are happy to advise at design stage on what is practical and economical in stone.
