Hardscaping & Garden Stone
Dry-stone walls, stone paving, steps and garden features built to last.

Good hardscaping is built to outlive the people who commission it. We build dry-stone walls in the traditional way, without mortar, so they flex with the ground and can be repaired stone by stone.
We lay natural stone paving on a proper base, cut steps and thresholds from solid stone, and build retaining walls that actually retain. Garden features, from a simple bench to a stone-edged terrace, are part of the same work.
We will always specify the right stone for where it sits and how it will be walked on, rather than the cheapest that looks the part on the day.

Questions
What is the difference between a dry-stone and a mortared wall?
A dry-stone wall is built without mortar and relies on careful placement and coping to hold together. It moves with the ground and can be repaired in place, which is why so many outlast mortared walls.
Will the paving you lay stay level?
If it is laid on a proper base, yes. Most paving that sinks or lifts was laid on too little preparation; we build the base to suit the ground and the traffic.
